The Director for Corporate Affairs reports to the Dutch Country Manager and will be responsible for the delivery of an aligned Corporate/Public Affairs & Communications strategy for Pfizer. In this new position you will drive comprehensive external programs that shape the external leadership profile of Pfizer in health and wellbeing in the Netherlands and in turn help deliver on Pfizer’s business objectives. This broad and exciting role also oversees internal communications strategy including social media solutions to fosters a “One Pfizer” internal culture. Interested and want to know more? Main responsibilities

  • As a key member of the Dutch Leadership team (Country Management Forum), the primary responsibilities of the Director Corporate Affairs are to promote a policy environment that will support our mission to deliver “breakthroughs that change patients’ lives”
  • Play an important role to build the company’s long term image and reputation through innovative and aligned policy, advocacy and communications activities across the Netherlands
  • Champion and further shape the Pfizer policy agenda through active participation in industry groups such as the association innovative medicines, health science & technology group, and the American chamber of commerce
     
  • Act as a key sounding board for the Dutch leadership team and a key network point into global teams


Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. A secondary qualification in communications or corporate/public affairs is highly desirable

Experience:

  • Significant professional experience in leading a corporate/public affairs function in both public and private sector
  • Experience in lobbying, excellent knowledge of Dutch political system and issues
  • In depth understanding of the Dutch healthcare system, political acumen, and a passion for policy work
  • Proven ability and skills to conceive, analyse, develop, influence and execute medium-to-long term strategies and campaigns to deal with complex issues including  healthcare and medicines financing and regulation, and life science innovation, involving multiple stakeholders
  • A strong record of being a great team player and collaborator with internal (all levels) and external (Government and Media influencers) stakeholders with the ability to promote cooperation and facilitate problem resolution in a timely, creative and professional manner

Languages: Outstanding oral and written communications skills in both Dutch and English are essential. This should include experience developing high level narratives, think pieces, and key messages at a corporate level
