Position summary

The sterile injectables/bulk portfolio consists of a diverse portfolio of over 40 hospital products and as our new KAM Sterile Injectables/Bulk we offer you an exciting opportunity to join the new Dutch Hospital Business Unit. The KAM is field based and is responsible to strategically position Pfizer regionally as a partner who accelerates the transition to a patient-centered, sustainable healthcare system. The KAM designs and implements account plans for the assigned strategic accounts, reflecting Pfizer’s 1-3 year business objectives ensuring access for the sterile injectables/bulk portfolio. The KAM pro-actively engages with strategically positioned stakeholders within the hospital + financial stakeholders to build smart coalitions around a therapeutic / value proposition. The KAM thinks beyond customer demands and needs and is a trusted advisor within the strategic accounts. The KAM is also responsible for successful delivery of the contracts in close collaboration with the Country Portfolio Lead Sterile Injectables/Bulk and Tender & Contracting Analyst/Tender & Trade Lead.

The Key Account Manager will report into the Hospital BU Lead.

As our new KAM your main responsibilities will be:

  • Monitor the competitive environment and market dynamics of the strategic accounts in order to anticipate on commercial opportunities
  • Achieve portfolio and business value, in which Pfizer is seen as providing differentiated, unique products and services, as well as being an expert in the strategic development of specific therapeutic areas with a focus on thrombosis
  • Identify and develop productive, mid- & long- term relationships with strategic accounts to optimize value driven care in line with Pfizer’s “Patient First” philosophy
  • Ensure objectives of the strategic accounts are met and pro-actively provide updates and financial forecasts
  • Determine and implement a long-term strategy for the assigned strategic accounts in alignment with Pfizer commercial objectives
  • Coordinate and monitor the process of key account planning
  • Contribute to the building and execution of the Tender & Contracting Strategy for the portfolio
  • Ensure the delivery of timely and qualitative offers by providing relevant market-, competitor- & customer insights and supporting the Country Portfolio Lead Sterile Injectables/Bulk in the optimization of the Tender & Contracting Process
  • Monitoring of contract performance and reporting in close collaboration with the Country Portfolio Lead Sterile Injectables/Bulk and the Tender & Contracting Analyst/Tender & Trade Lead
  • Proactively collaborates with the Country Portfolio Lead Sterile Injectables/Bulk, the Tender & Contracting Analyst/Tender & Trade Lead and cross-functional team
  • Ensure high standards of Compliance to norms, policies, and procedures

About you

We are very interested to find out more about you. Requirements we need you to meet for this position:
Education: Bachelor degree in Commercial or Life Sciences
Experience: 3-5 years in a commercial/field force role in Pharmaceutical Industries

Key Competencies & Skills:

  • Understand the effects of the external environment on the fundamental drivers of the strategic accounts and their implications on the hospital business
  • Challenge and discuss (un)conventional business solutions with internal and external stakeholders with the aim to establish added value creation and a patient-centered sustainable healthcare environment
  • Build and maintain account relationships and excellent insight regarding the DMU and the overarching networks impacting these accounts
  • Transfer from transactional to strategic relationships with shared objectives
  • Perform and prioritize effectively in stressful circumstances and request timely assistance when required
  • Leadership without authority - Capability to ensure colleagues are actively contributing to the account objectives
  • Ability to set-up and implement the strategic key account planning according to the milestones
  • Excellent communicator in both Dutch and English (written and spoken)
