For the Upjohn business unit, Pfizer is looking a Senior Medical Advisor in the Netherlands, Capelle aan den IJssel. In this new role you will be responsible to develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders both externally and internally. Since you support both The Netherlands and Irish region, traveling between the locations will be part of the job. Interested to further develop this new role? Then we might have something for you!

Reporting to the West Alliance Medical lead, you will provide relevant scientific information in response to customer-stated needs in order to obtain or maintain a category leadership position. Main responsibilities for the Senior Medical Advisor:

Contributing to and driving the development and implementation of a product strategy as a core member of the cross functional team
Delivering medical and scientific advice and support internally and externally to ensure the interests and medical outcome for the patient and HCP plus Pfizer Upjohn are safeguarded in a manner that complies with all applicable Pfizer guidelines, policies and procedures 
In the two countries, you are responsible for developing and executing the medical plan in country that supports or drives the strategic operating goals for the Upjohn business
Acting as the single point of accountability for medical and scientific initiatives related to the Upjohn portfolio of products
The role will also be an integrated member of the International Centre of Excellence team and supports the content medical manager with the implementation of customer strategies, with particular focus on non HCP communication

About you:


  • Medical Degree , Pharmacist, Master in (Biomedical) Sciences or similar
  • 5+ years’ experience as Medical Advisor in a pharmaceutical medical affairs environment
  • Language skills: Dutch and English fluent

Other skills:

  • Good analytical, synthesizing and writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills 
  • Dedicated to meeting the needs and requirements of internal and external customer’s products and services; always focused on patient safety first, establishes and maintains effective relationships with impactful customers and gains their trust in  and respect for the portfolio 
  • Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully; steadfastly pushes self and others for results, winning the right way 
  • Good at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done;  understands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient work flow 
  • See the big picture- have focus on things that matter and at the same time understand the details that must be in place to achieve the bigger goals
