About the role

The Medical Science&Relations Manager (MSRM) is a key role within the Internal Medicine Business Unit. The MSRM provides focused, relevant scientific information related to customers who work within the  anti-coagulation therapeutic area. Pfizer (with alliance partner BMS) has a leading position and proposition in this area. The MSRM will become part of a diverse and well-functioning team reporting directly to the Country Medical Director.
 

Main responsibilities

  • Build and develop enduring peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions, creating constructive, cross-functional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to generate customer insights and leverage business opportunities.
  • Provide focused relevant information in response to customer-stated needs in order to maintain a therapeutic leadership position and drive medical scientific needs at the national, regional, and corporate level
  • Leads medical to medical communications in the field
  • Be a scientific expert for HCPs, Medical Societies, Academia and other relevant key scientific stakeholders. The core HCPs consists of GPs, pharmacists and cardiologists
  • Lead medical input into the cross functional team, bringing in customer insights from medical perspective to the cross functional team and contributing to brand plans
  • Be the go-to-expert for internal customers with regards to clinical expertise and deep therapeutic area knowledge as well as knowledge about Pfizer’s pipeline compounds.
  • Define disease area medical strategies by implementation of local non-interventional studies.
  • This is an individual contributor role
     

About you

Education: (Para-)medical, pharmacy or postgraduate level science degree

Work Experience: Minimum of 1-2 year experience in the bio-pharmaceutical industry or related area. A finalized PhD path is considered an alternative to the above mentioned work experience.

Knowledge:

  • A solid understanding of clinical research and the ability to critically evaluate clinical study protocols, reports and publications
  • In-depth knowledge of the therapeutic area, the relevant medicines in the portfolio and the pipeline is a plus.
  • An understanding of the compliance framework for medical interactions in relation to the applicable regulations, Code of Practice and SOPs is a plus.

Competencies:

  • Ability to quickly absorb large quantities of scientific information, including critical appraisal of clinical studies and publications and distill key conclusions
  • Ability to effectively communicate in-depth scientific knowledge
  • Ability to connect and interact with stakeholders with social sensitivity and build sustainable relationships
  • Languages: Fluency in English
