About the role


The Medical Affairs Specialist (MAS) is the medical scientific subject matter expert for Pfizer on the Oncology Breast Cancer franchise for HCPs, medical societies, regulators, academia and other external and internal (scientific) stakeholders during the entire life cycle of the lung cancer products (i.e. marketed and pipeline) as well as the competitive brands.

The MAS is responsible for maintaining the highest scientific standards, that is objective, balanced, and compliant in every medical/scientific external activity, as well as in scope with internal processes. The MAS’ customer facing time will be optimized by the platform roles as that is its key responsibility.

Main responsibilities

  • The MAS will be responsible to develop strategic partnerships with internal and external key stakeholders during the entire lifecycle of Pfizer Oncology Breast cancer portfolio.
  • Provides focused relevant information in response to customer-stated needs in order to maintain a therapeutic leadership position and drive medical scientific needs at the national, regional, and corporate level.
  • Able to partner with high level scientific KOL’s at peer level, and lead medical to medical communications in the field.
  • Scientific expert for HCPs, Medical Societies, Academia and other relevant key scientific stakeholders.
  • Stipulates medical strategy and leads X-FT projects with different internal stakeholders.
  • Accountable for the Breast Cancer Oncology portfolio related medical projects including budget.
     

About you

  • Master degree in Life Sciences with 6+ years of relevant work experience (i.e. Medical Affairs Oncology) or Master degree and PhD level in Life Sciences with 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Dutch and Business English (at least C1)
  • Ability to quickly absorb large quantities of scientific information, including critical appraisal of clinical studies and publications and distill key conclusions
  • Ability to effectively communicate in-depth scientific knowledgeAbility to connect and interact with stakeholders with social sensitivity and build sustainable relationshipsSolid understanding of (the process of) drug development and clinical trial conduct
  • Demonstrated business acumen, including decision-making and prioritization
